Residential lighting accounts for a major portion of the energy used in American homes. Critical for the safety and convenience of our lifestyles, lighting is a necessity that can’t be eliminated from a household budget. In many cases, however, lighting can also be a source of energy loss. Leaving lights on in unoccupied rooms or outdoor areas can waste significant amounts of electricity and make monthly utility bills higher than necessary.
